Dangote To Transport Refined Products By Sea — Official

  Dangote Group has said that it plans to transport refined petroleum products by sea. This announcement was made in a statement on Sunday by the Senior Adviser to the Group President on Special Projects and Strategic Relations, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman. She noted the construction of a jetty in the Lekki Free Zone to handle bulk cargoes during the refinery’s development. “Today, we are exporting our products to many African countries through the seaport. We also plan to ease the pressure on the roads from the refinery by transporting finished petroleum products to other ports along the Nigerian coast by sea, for further distribution to the hinterland,”  she said. According to the group, this initiative aims to alleviate pressure on road networks while facilitating exports to other African countries.   Israel's Defense Forces (IDF) said Nasrallah, who led the Iran-backed militant group for more than three decades, was killed on Friday as fighter jets conducted what it described as a "targeted strike" on Hezbollah's headquarters in Lebanon's capital of Beirut. The Israeli army on Saturday  officially announced the killing of Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah, one day after carrying out a large-scale attack on Lebanon. "Hassan Nasrallah is dead," Israeli army spokesperson Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani said via social media.   Controversy has erupted following the announcement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as the winner of the Edo governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Okpebholo victorious on September 22, 2024. However, results posted on INEC’s Independent Results Viewing (IREV) portal tell a different story, showing that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, secured more votes. Asue Ighodalo’s PDP, according to IREV data, garnered 314,676 votes across the state’s 18 local government areas. Meanwhile, the APC’s Okpebholo, whose results were initially lower, reportedly surged by 8.58% to 244,606 votes in the final tally released by INEC.   Wema Bank is the longest surviving indigenous bank in Nigeria. The bank was founded 77 years ago by Late Chief Mattew Adekoya Agbonmagbe Okupe. It didn't start as a bank at first though. Chief Mattew started out as a famous government-approved money lender before he established the bank. He started the bank in May 1945 after his business expanded beyond the status of a cottage money lender. After obtaining a banking license, Chief Mattew registered the Wema bank we know today as "Agbonmagbe bank". The word Agbonmagbe loosely translates as "the source that never dry." As the first indigenous bank in Nigeria , Agbonmagbe bank had branches in Ebute meta, Mushin, Ifo, Sagamu,Ago Iwoye, Ijebu igbo and zaria . Agbonmagbe bank became Wema bank through the acquisition by the Wema board in 1969. 18 years later in 1987, the bank went public as Wema Bank plc. Eyes Of Lagos claims that  Otse emphasized allegations made by Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, in the widely circulated recording. Okuneye claimed to have paid ₦15 million in bribery to members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in order to get money laundering charges against him dropped.
