The Ijebu-Epe Expressway is meant to serve as a means of decongesting the new Lekki Industrial Area. A lot of large facilities are being built in Ibeju-Lekki, which is quite close to Epe and the Ijebu-Epe Expressway will be the route through which goods and people are moved from these facilities into the hinterland of Nigeria.
